The possession and sale of Salvia Divinorum A products is LEGAL throughout most of the countries in the world. Salvia is completely legal in the United States and Canada, with the notable exceptions of the states of Louisiana and Missouri, USA. Other countries in which Salvia is ILLEGAL include:

• Italy
• Spain (commerce ONLY; possession and use legal)
• Belgium
• Estonia (legal with a prescription from a doctor)

It should be noted that, if the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) (USA) decides to schedule Salvia in its list of “controlled substances”, it will take a minimum of 30 days after they give public notice of their intentions (in the Federal Register) before the change of legal status takes effect.
